Are your products Non-GMO?

Yes! All Castle Kitchen Foods products are made in compliance with the Non-GMO Project Standard, with ongoing ingredient verification and regular facility audits.

Do you use artificial flavours or colours?

Never. We keep it real—no artificial flavours or colours in any of our products.

Why does my tin look like it isn’t full?

Great question. Our tins are filled to the exact weight listed on the package. Because we use real, premium dark chocolate, the mix naturally settles over time—so it may look less full when you open it.

Can I use milk or a milk alternative?

Absolutely. Our hot chocolate is delicious with dairy milk or any plant-based alternative—oat, almond, coconut, you name it.

Where do I find the best before date?

You’ll find it on the bottom of the tin in Day/Month/Year format.

Are your products allergy-friendly?

Our hot chocolates are made without the top priority allergens, including dairy, nuts, soy, and gluten ingredients.

However, our facility is not certified allergen-free, so if you have a severe allergy, we recommend not consuming our products out of an abundance of caution.

Are your products made in a nut-free or dairy-free facility?

No, our facility is not certified nut-free or dairy-free. While we follow strict cleaning and testing protocols, trace cross-contact is still possible.

How much cocoa is in your hot chocolate?

A lot 😊 Our blends contain over 50% cocoa, delivering a rich, authentic chocolate experience.

Does your hot chocolate contain caffeine?

Yes—naturally. Cocoa contains caffeine, and each serving has about 21 mg.

Do your sugar-free products contain erythritol?

No. We use monk fruit and stevia—no erythritol.

Why do nutrition labels differ between Canada and U.S.?

It comes down to how acacia gum is classified:

  • In Canada, it counts as dietary fiber
  • In the U.S., it doesn’t

Same product—just different labeling rules.

Is your cocoa sustainably sourced?

Yes. We’re proud to source our cocoa responsibly from regions including Ivory Coast, Brazil, and Malaysia.

Is your product made on shared equipment with dairy?

Yes—but never at the same time. We follow strict protocols, including full equipment cleaning and testing, before producing allergen-free batches.
